Dunedin City Council's Parks and Recreation Strategy is motivated to see the local community more active more often, when it comes to maintaining local facilities, parks and the open spaces that are there for the enjoyment of all. The DCC supports a diverse range of opportunities for volunteers to engage with the environment.
Your Team could be doing any of the following enjoyable activities:
- Planting
- Weed control
- Pest control
- Rubbish clean-ups
- Track maintenance (walking tracks and bike tracks)
- Helping with various opportunities and events on parks and reserves
- You will always be working alongside others
Training provided:
- Each respective conservation project has its own Health and Safety induction program and supervisor
- Please enquire to hear more about all available and up-and-coming opportunities

Requirements
- Enthusiasm for Conservation and the Outdoors
- Each project requires a different level of fitness and skills
- Initial health and safety orientation is provided - to keep your team safe
- Physically able to mobilise over uneven surfaces
- Ability to follow Health & Safety protocols is essential
- Suitable footwear, sun protection (hat, sunscreen) and clothing for the outdoors (windbreaker/parker)
