The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Trust is a charitable organisation which tells the story of our land, our whenua. It inspires our people and visitors to learn, discover and be connected to our living planet and cultural histories, so together we can care for and contribute to thriving communities. We aim to develop a generation of people who care for the planet and its people by understanding, appreciating and protecting our land, our sky and our ocean.
The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark hosts a monthly public talk series at the Oamaru library every third Thursday of the month. We need volunteers to help with the promotion of these events and support on the day.
The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark is looking for an enthusiastic person with good communication skills to research and apply for relevant funding opportunities.
Are you keen to welcome visitors to the district and introduce the Geopark to them? We need volunteers to help man the Geopark’s front desk.
