Aroha Kaikorai Valley exists to look after the Kaikorai catchment. They focus on Community, Plants, Predators, Water and Air Quality, creating change through action and awareness. Their work is important so future generations can enjoy the Kaikorai catchment.
An opportunity has arisen to help train new volunteer trappers and trap installers.
As a Trainer you will:
- Meet new volunteer trappers and train them to use a variety of predator traps.
- Show trap installers how to look for predator signs and how to best place a trap.

Requirements
- Previous trapping experience.
- A driver's license and access to a roadworthy vehicle.
- You enjoy talking with a wide variety of people.
- You love teaching
- You have the ability to communicate complex information to the general public.
- Physically fit.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
- Approximately 1–2 hours per week. This can be adjusted to suit your needs and schedule, but will be influenced by the number of new volunteers coming on board.
- A minimum 6-month commitment is required.
