Trips and Outings Companion

If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare weekly, fortnightly or monthly, this is your chance to make someone’s day extra special.

🌟 What You’ll Do:

  • Assist residents in and out of the van (staff will be present to support)
  • Enjoy conversations and connection during the outing
  • Push a wheelchair, if required, on walks or at stops
  • Take in the beautiful Southland scenery together
  • Help create fun and meaningful experiences outside the care home
  • Be part of a supportive, caring team

Requirements

✅ You’re a Great Fit If You Are:

  • Friendly, reliable, and a good communicator
  • Respectful and patient, with a genuine interest in older people
  • Comfortable working alongside staff as part of a team
  • Physically able to assist with mobility needs (e.g. pushing a wheelchair)
  • Happy to share your energy, empathy, and good humour

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

🕒 Flexible Commitment: just 2 hours weekly, fortnightly or monthly can make a big difference.
