Fiona was born and raised in Wellington and lived in Sydney, Australia for a number of years before settling in Queenstown with her family in 2019.
She’s passionate about projects that support the community and work towards creating a thriving region for all residents. So she’s excited to deliver huddl to Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes. huddl is a new initiative designed to increase capability, collaboration and capacity across the community and social sector. By providing essential information, resources, guidance and mentor programmes huddl is here to make life easier for community groups.
Volunteer South are the backbone organisation, fund holder and employer for huddl, a collective impact initiative with members from the following organisations: Alexandra Council of Social Services, Alexandra Community House, Central Lakes Trust, Central Otago District Council, Cromwell and Districts Community Trust, Queenstown Lakes District Council, Sport Central, Volunteer South and Whakatipu Hub.
Fiona’s previous position as the Membership and Development Manager at the Queenstown Business Chamber of Commerce provided a wonderful opportunity to support and engage with the business community in Queenstown. She’s looking forward to working closely with community groups in the region to help support them to achieve their goals and enhance their impact.
In addition to her role as Project Lead for huddl Fiona also works for the Lightfoot Initiative a Whakatipu charity which encourages and enables sustainable transport.
