Emergency Volunteering

Volunteers fulfil a range of roles in an emergency, including community coordination, practical tasks, welfare, logistics, intel services and more, and come from all walks of life. Devoting your time to volunteering in an emergency can be both rewarding and challenging.

Volunteer South maintains a database of people who are happy to be contacted for assistance in the event of an emergency.

Would you like to help out? Here's how it works:

  • Complete the application with your contact details and skills that you have to offer. You must live in the Southern region, some opportunties will require you to be 18 or over.
  • If an emergency situation arises, your details are made available to the relevant lead agency.
  • Depending on the situation, you may be contacted and asked if you can assist.
  • You can change your details or opt out at any time
