Community Connector - Queenstown Lakes

Paula grew up in Dunedin and has been a long-standing local of the Queenstown Lakes District, having called the area home for over 15 years. Driven by a genuine love for her community and a deep passion for people, connection, and creating opportunities, she is committed to helping the area thrive. She particularly enjoys connecting dots - bringing together resources, needs, and people for maximum positive impact.

Paula brings extensive experience across community engagement and support. Her background includes serving as a Youth Development Leader, empowering young people with leadership and volunteering skills, and seven years as Executive Support to the Member of Parliament for Southland. In this key community liaison role, she worked closely with diverse groups - listening, advocating, and connecting people with essential support and opportunities across the district.

A firm believer in the power of collective action, Paula considers volunteering fundamental to a vibrant, connected district and a key driver of community well-being. She is particularly driven by a passion for recognising and nurturing the potential within others.

Joining Volunteer South in November 2025, Paula is excited to support the valuable volunteering mahi across the region and she looks forward to connecting with both volunteers and local organisations that are doing fabulous things. When she's not working, Paula spends time hosting family and friends, practising yoga, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors of the district.
