At CAB Dunedin, Sallyann is an extraordinary volunteer who weaves strength, kindness, and wisdom through everything she does. She is a board member, a roster lifesaver (always the first to fill in when others are sick or away), and a peer reviewer who doesn’t just tick boxes — she gives constructive feedback and uplifts the whole team.
From calmly guiding clients through their rights to investigating options with sharp research skills, she empowers people with clarity and care. Her style is gentle, patient, and welcoming — never judgmental, always informed. She brings people along with her, helping them understand their rights, what’s possible, and the steps to resolving.
After reviewing hundreds of client write-ups each month, she offers valuable insights to the manager, always thinking of the quality of the CAB service and how the whole team can grow. She contributes to every part of the CAB service, never seeking recognition. Nothing is ever a problem. She is the kind of volunteer who makes you want to be better, do better, and remember why the CAB mahi matters.
She is the embodiment of Whiria Te Tangata — a thread of strength, connecting people to their rights and contributing to a resilient community.
