Food For Love - A Recipe for Connection

Bringing a diverse and enthusiastic group of Food For Love volunteers together for an annual Fruit Crumble fundraiser is one of our highlights of the year. Many look forward to spending time together, chatting away, and sharing stories while slicing and dicing their way through over 500kg of amazing fruit.

This year the Food For Love hosted approximately 60 amazing volunteers to whip up nearly 700 delicious crumbles. Meeting like minded people in our community - this is really what keeps the heart of a thriving community pumping.

Our volunteers bring skills and personal qualities from their time as teachers, bankers, stylists, chefs, farmers, accountants, hostesses, Mums, MAC students, gardeners, real estate agents and many more vocations.

We are truly blessed to have the most diverse and passionate group of very generous volunteers. They are an incredible group of kind hearted, community orientated members who govern, cook, bake, and deliver our home cooked meals from the heart.

Importantly Food For Love is more than just about the food. The added nourishment for our nominees comes from just learning that someone in our supportive community really does care about them and what they are currently going through. That they are not alone in the world. It is this often unspoken gesture of support and connection from the community, via our volunteers, that is valued the most from our nominees.
