Orokonui Ecosanctuary
To restore an entire forest catchment (307ha) to its pre-human state – free from predators. Where native species of all kinds can flourish. Reinstate special species locally, extinct or rare such as kiwis, kaka and tuatara. Provide an informative, historical, cultural and ecological experience for visitors.

Volunteers are offered those volunteer jobs relevant to their interests and skills. We are specifically keen to hear from individuals who can commit to a full day each week working outdoors in the sanctuary doing tasks such as weeding, scrub cutting.
