Friends of the Medical School

The ‘Friends’ are volunteer participants who are willing to help with early medical Year 2 and 3 students learning. This is usually in the form of discussing their illness or illness experiences with a pair of students in their own home or coming into the Medical School to discuss this with a small group of students and their expert tutor. These interactions of student and volunteer are intended to give the students an orientation to medicine based on the patient as a person in the context of their community.
