Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC)
Our mission is to care and our vision is to cure. LBC is the only national not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting patients and their families living with blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and serious blood conditions. We are committed to improving the quality of life from the first diagnosis, through the months and often years of treatment and then hopefully recovery. Our Support Services Coordinator based in Dunedin will provide personalised and specialised support for the patient, family and care-givers at home, in the hospital or through support and educational groups. LBC also funds targeted research for better treatments and potential cures. Our support is free of charge but LBC receives no government funding and rely entirely on voluntary donations to ensure that we can continue to support those that need us in the Otago Region.
