Queenstown Multicultural Festival Trust
The Queenstown Multicultural Festival was first held in 2022, to celebrate and showcase the diversity of cultures represented in the community. They hope to bring this event to the community on an annual basis with the following objectives: ** To organize an annual multicultural festival community event that celebrates and promotes the diversity of cultures, ethnicities and traditions in the community. ** To provide a platform for community members to showcase their cultural heritage through music, dance, art and food, and to encourage participation from all members of the community. ** To foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation through educational and cultural activities that highlight the similarities and differences between different cultures. ** To create a safe and inclusive space where people from all backgrounds can come together to learn, share and celebrate, and to promote social cohesion and community engagement. ** To support and promote the economic and cultural development of the community by showcasing local talent and businesses, and by attracting visitors to the area. ** To provide opportunities for community members to volunteer, contribute and collaborate in the planning and organisation of the event, and to encourage a sense of ownership and pride in the community. ** To ensure that the event is accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities and to provide appropriate help and support services. ** To prioritise sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices in the planning and execution of the event and to minimise the ecological impact of the festival. ** To collaborate with local organisations, businesses, and government agencies to secure funding, resources and support for the event and to build partnerships and networks that can help to sustain and grow the festival over time. ** To evaluate the success and impact of the festival annually and to use feedback and data to continuously improve the event and better meet the needs and expectations of the community.
