Whakatipu - Inspire the next Generation!

Wakatipu High School’s next Teacher Only Day is Friday 29 May 2026, and we would love for your organisation to be part of it!

If you haven't worked with young volunteers before, this is the perfect time to explore how youth can add value to your team. Along with a diverse set of skills, young people bring fresh ideas and a unique energy. This is a fantastic opportunity to show students how they can make a real impact in an area they are passionate about, while helping your organisation reach its goals.

How to Get Involved:

1. Create a Role: Think of a task that needs doing! Students can work alongside your regular volunteers or tackle a 'wish list' project you haven’t had the time to action. Roles can even be home-based, such as baking or designing a poster or graphics for an upcoming event. You decide how many students you’d like to host.

2. Set Your Timing: We recommend sessions from 9:00am - 12:00pm or 12:30pm - 3:30pm. However, we are happy to work with you if your needs fall outside these windows.

3. Prep for Success: For all on-site roles, we ask that there is a clear role description, adequate adult supervision and an induction is provided. We will provide you with a best practice overview, to ensure both you and the students have a high-impact, positive experience.

Click here to submit your role by Friday 24 April 2026.
If you’re keen to participate but have a few questions first, please email our Community Connector for Central Lakes, Paula Denton paula@volunteersouth.org.nz, to start the conversation.
