Meals on Wheels Driver for Mosgiel

Volunteers will be asked to:

  • Collect meals from Taieri Court, deliver meals to clients.
  • Return containers to Taieri Court, Mosgiel. Report to Taieri Court if meals are not taken.
  • As well as your own reliable, warranted and licensed vehicle, volunteers need to have a police check, as you will be contacting vulnerable clients.

A small reimbursement by way of a fuel voucher is offered to volunteers, but not everyone chooses to accept it.
It is a very rewarding experience for volunteers, and an important social contact and wellbeing check for the client.

Requirements

We'd like to have volunteers who:

  • Are a good driver
  • Cheerful and trustworthy
  • Able to read a map
  • Must have current driver’s licence

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Monday to Friday, approximately 11:20am to 12.30pm.

Volunteer will be required 4-5 weeks per year
