Toy Library Assistant

Our aim is to provide low cost toys on loan for the local community, therefore we are looking for Volunteers to:

  • man the library
  • check in and out toys on the computer system
  • enrol new members
  • record all money transactions for toys and membership fees during that duty
  • To ensure the Library is in clean condition and locked securely before leaving.

There is also room for volunteers to help with the ongoing running of the toy library by becoming a committee member and fulfilling other responsibilities, such as account balancing, funding, fundraising, increasing community awareness etc.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, although someone will go through it all with you
  • Basic bookkeeping skills
  • Good socializing skills

Casual dress

The trainee can sit in on as many Saturday sessions as they feel they need, until comfortable. Most people only need one. Help is only a phone call away and detailed written instructions are displayed.

Many of us bring our own children, while we are on duty. You would be very welcome to bring your own children or grandchildren.

Time commitment

Saturdays from 2pm until 4 pm. Start and end dates are open.
Part of a rotating roster, so every 6 - 8 weeks.
