The Otago Farmers Market is an Authentic Farmers Market. Rain, hail or shine, every Saturday morning of the year, you will find the very best of what the province grows and produces. With up to 65 vendors at peak season, the market is famous for its welcoming ambience, which ensures a good time is had by all.

In this role you will be:

  • Familiarising yourself with OFM's market day services, ethos, merchandise, operations and vendors
  • Staffing the OFM Market Caravan Hub on Market Day (Saturdays only).
  • Interacting with the public by answering any queries.
  • Serving members of the public in a retail sales role - as they also sell merchandise from the Caravan Hub.

Volunteers will get:

  • An initial training/induction (they'll show you what to do).
  • To participate in a lively and much loved community event.
  • To further your retail and customer service experience.

Requirements

  • A bright, bubbly personality.
  • Great people skills.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • A love of farmers markets.
  • An ethos around sustainability (buying local & eating seasonally).
  • Dress Code: Tidy, warm clothing.

Time commitment

Saturdays - 10am - 12pm. Once every 4-6wks would be ideal. Dates to start to be discussed - depending on availability.
