Altrusa Queenstown is a community organisation which aims to make a difference in their community; broaden your knowledge through speakers, workshops and conferences; develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment; develop business and personal networks and most importantly have fun.

Altrusa Queenstown fundraises and directly works with their community to help make a difference. They run a Charity Golf Tournament, Haberdashery Sale, Fashion Shows, Quiz Nights and volunteer their time at Wakatipu Home and Hospital, Wakatipu Kindergarten and a number of other events.

In recent years they have supported Search and Rescue, Lakes District Air Rescue Trust, The Youth Booth, Wakatipu High School Literacy Prizes, local babies through Plunket, the Big Buddy Programme and Wakatipu Kindergarten.

Volunteers are required to help organise and run their events and will be invited to join Altrusa committees. This role enables you to have the opportunity to meet a range of awesome people, make friends, be able to give back to your community (as according to your own time availability), and make a difference without significant financial outlay.

Volunteers are encouraged to become members of Altrusa, at which point they are able to attend regional and national conferences.
