Full Training will be given so you can assist the Section Leader/Kaiarahi to deliver the Scouting Programme to their Youth members. You will help Mentor the youth to develop and advance their skills. Help them to overcome their fears and push themselves out of their comfort zone, while at the same time developing and advancing your own skills.

Being a Scout Leader is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things you can do and we would love for you to be a part of the Fun and Adventure. Your Volunteer work will be a great addition to your CV.

Requirements

  • All you need is a willingness to give anything a go and be prepared to give up a few hours a week
  • A uniform and scarf will be provided
  • You will have the opportunity to attain First Aid Training
  • Attend occassional overnight camping trips

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • Kea Section Nights run on a Wednesday from 5.30-6.30pm
  • Leaders also meet once a term to plan the following terms programm - about an hour of time
  • Weekend camping/sleepovers happen about 2-4 times a year
  • North Otago Zone Events (Adventurous Camps, Raft Racing, Trolley Racing to name but a few) happen throughout the year as well
