Volunteering for TBK is an opportunity to meet people, get active, enjoy the outdoors, and truly make a difference in your community.
PRIMARY TASKS:
- Help the Education Coordinator to supervise and support TBK participants during projects, events, and activities
- Help to ensure the general welfare and safety of TBK staff, students and fellow volunteers during projects, events, and activities
- Serve as a positive role model and guide to TBK’s Student Leadership Team (SLT)
- Be an advocate for TBK and the cause of conservation.

Requirements
- A passion or interest in working outdoors and/or conservation
- A willingness to get stuck in and have fun is essential
- Experience working with children is preferred but certainly not necessary
- Some knowledge of NZ biodiversity and/or nature conservation would be fantastic
- A reasonable level of fitness is required
- A basic ability to use hand tools would be helpful
- A current first aid certificate would be an advantage
- All applicants for volunteer roles are required to consent to Police Vetting
- Must be able to provide own field work wear (when required) including sun protection (hat, drink bottle), sturdy boots and outdoor clothing.
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
Opportunities can be one-off or ongoing depending on a volunteers’ availability and capability.
