Shop On Carroll - Online Retail Assistant

(Pharmacy Students please note: Our Pharmacy allocations are now full, we had a limited number of roles set aside for Pharmacy students completing their 20 hours, these allocations have now been filled!)

Shop on Carroll is a popular Op Shop with an online department that specialises in pre-loved and vintage clothing, homewares and accessories. The online department is looking for online Retail Assistants to work within a small, friendly and passionate team. The online team aims to provide some of the flavour of their unique Shop on Carroll store, while embracing the growing movement toward lowering waste and repurposing goods and fashion. As an Online Retail Assistant you will be:

  • Competent on a compute, experience with Microsoft and email
  • Sorting, listing and preparing items for sale online
  • Drafting product descriptions
  • Preparing items for photographing
  • Packaging items and preparing them for postage or pickup
  • Researching items thoroughly
  • Writing descriptions of items for the shop's website
  • Assisting with online customer enquiries
  • Performing data entry and social media update tasks
  • Using an online payment system
  • Volunteers with photography skills may have an opportunity to photograph items for the online shop
  • Volunteers who feel comfortable modelling will have the opportunity to model items for the online shop

Volunteers will gain:

  • Excellent online retail sales, e-commerce work experience while also giving back to the community
  • The knowledge that all profits generated from online sales go toward supporting PSO's Family Works social and community work
  • Volunteers enjoy working with a small fun team of likeminded individuals
  • You will get to research a lot of very interesting items

Requirements

  • Previous experience with online payment systems would be a bonus
  • Team player with a sense of humour
  • A good eye for photographs would be an advantage
  • Data entry and social media knowledge would be an advantage
  • Physical Requirements: the role may involve standing, walking, bending, sitting, climbing stairs, simple clasping, fine manipulation, light lifting, reaching, carrying pushing/pulling, pivoting

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • 2 hours or more a week, preferably on a Tuesday or Thursday, option of a Wednesday but would require training.
  • This roles requires someone who can make a commitment for at least 6 months.
