Hospice Southland provides Specialist Palliative Care Services. Their philosophy is to affirm life and to offer dignity and hope to patients, by providing free palliative care to those with life-limiting illness in a setting of their choice.
Hospice Southland not only runs a six bed in-patient Unit, but also cares for around 120 patients out in the community at any given time. Hospice and its palliative care services focuses on supporting quality of life, by responding to each patients physical, emotional and spiritual needs. As you can imagine, family life is deeply affected when a loved one has a life-limiting illness, support for families is also an intrinsic part of hospice care.
