Hospice philosophy affirms life and offers dignity and hope through the provision of their Specialist Palliative Care Service. Their vision is for everyone living in Southland to have access to the highest quality palliative care. Hospice run a six bed In-Patient Unit, but also care for around 12 patients in the community. Hospice' palliative care focuses on enhancing peoples quality of life, while responding to each patients physical, emotional and spiritual needs (part of this involves maintaining their beautiful gardens).
As you can possibly imagine, family life is deeply affected when a loved one has a life-limiting illness, so support for families is also an intrinsic part of Hospice care.
