MEISS mission is to improve the quality of life for people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) by providing them with information and support, and by educating health professionals and the wider community. MEISS is currently looking for someone to support the community by being a part of their committee.
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a disabling and complex illness. People with ME/CFS aren't often able to do their usual activities. At times, ME/CFS may confine them to bed, and people with ME/CFS can experience overwhelming fatigue not always improved by rest.
As a Committee Member you will be:
- Attending monthly meetings
(3rd Wednesday evening of the month - meetings held online via Zoom)
- Assisting with problem solving and decision making
- Reviewing the smooth running of services
- Assisting with the planning of future services
- Helping with the administration
- Working alongside a fantastic team of people
Training Provided:
- You will be provided with a full organisational orientation

Requirements
- Interest in supporting those with ME/CFS
- Ability to attend Zoom meetings
(have your own laptop or tablet)
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Minimum commitment of 12mnths
Time commitment
- The Committee meets once a month
- Meetings last approx. 60 minutes, so about 1hr/ 1.5hrs required per month
- Volunteers can volunteer from home (as meetings are held online)
