The Salvation Army Community Garden on Dunstan Rd grows produce for the community and they need help with maintaining 8 large plots, and provide affordable vegetables for anyone who needs them! They are in the process of setting up an orchard area, and in the winter months, they also chop up firewood for distribution in the community - which helps them raise funds for garden maintenance supplies and operations.
Whether you've got a green thumb or just want get outside, get active and help your community- all volunteers are welcome! More hands mean more efficient operations for the garden. This is an opportunity to contribute to an essential service to those in need in the community.

Volunteer South's office is closed from Friday 20th December until Monday January 6th. Many organisations listing roles online will also be taking a break. During this time your requests to connect will go through, however there may be some delay in you hearing from the organisations you select. Please be patient and if you have not heard back from them by mid January email them directly and give them a nudge. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season and summer.
