The Plunket Society is a non-profit national organisation whose people are passionately committed to the well-being of children and their families. Plunket support families to ensure children reach their full potential in the first 5 years of life. Services available include parenting advice and support, child health promotion and health education.

Being a playgroup coordinator is a very varied role and you can make it your own!

Tasks may involve:

  • Setting up toys/activities and cleaning up after playgroup
  • Having a little chin wag with the mums at playgroup
  • Entertaining the children while mum has a quiet cuppa
  • Letting your creativity loose by designing play activities each week

There is the ability to have more than one person in this role and work together or alternating weeks. By offering just a couple of hours of support for our centre, you are contributing to the wellness of children and families in the community.

Orientation and ongoing support provided by the local Community Support Coordinator
Option of ongoing training

Requirements

  • Friendly & approachable
  • Experience with children is preferred but not necessary.
  • Successful applicants will undergo a police check.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • Wednesday 10am-11.30am
  • Option to volunteer weekly or fortnightly
