Store Helper - Lumsden

St. John Op Shop teams do fantastic work in the community selling affordable pre-loved goods, and this helps to fund our essential, lifesaving services and community initiatives. They have created friendly, supportive community hubs, offering much-needed local services and even help New Zealand to be more environmentally sustainable - more recycling means less landfill!

Maybe you already have retail or customer service experience or perhaps you're looking for an opportunity to learn these skills - either way, they'd love to hear from you. Training will be provided, and support will be available throughout the role.

What's involved? There's plenty of variety in this role, you could be doing anything from:

• serving customers
• cash handling
• sorting donated goods
• visual merchandising
• tidying the store

Requirements

The role would suit:

• caring individuals who want to give back to their community
• Retail experience is great but not essential.
• Someone keen to learn, enthusiastic and reliable
• Someone 18 years or older,

Please note, they are happy to consider the right candidates who are 16 years or older and are keen to gain experience. They would love to support your development and provide supervision while you volunteer.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

4 hours a week (one half-day shift), ideally for at least 6 - 12 months.
