Linen Sorter

Habitat for Humanity is a non profit organisation that strives to provide a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The local community benefits from donations that are received from the public & all profits go towards those locally in housing need. Volunteers are key players in ensuring the smooth running of our store & raising funds so we can help others who are struggling with suitable housing. You would be a part of a wider team who help make this mission possible.

Volunteers are needed to sorting through all kinds of donated linen e.g. sheets, towels, blankets, curtains etc. You would be:

  • sizing
  • pricing
  • stocking shop shelves.
  • doing some ironing
  • doing some minor repairs (sewing machine provided)

Meet new friends while providing much needed housing support for your community. Volunteering is done at Glengarry ReStore and you work in a group.

Requirements

  • Experience working alongside people from a wide range of cultures, ages, and backgrounds.
  • An understanding and a commitment to community needs.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, passionate and have a positive attitude.
  • An ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised once training is completed.
  • Good communication skills
  • People with sewing skills welcome!

Time commitment

  • Anytime between 9:30a-4:30pm (Mon-Fri)
  • 3 to 4 hour shifts preferred- anytime in that window
  • once or twice weekly (flexible based on your availability)
