Sew On Period Care is a grassroots collective based in Dunedin, they are looking for a digital marketer to join their team and lift their profile online. The team have little experience with social media marketing, so you would have a lot of creative freedom within this role!

This could involve:

  • Help them with their social media
  • Create and send out information to the community to provoke interest.
  • Set up and give them an exciting presence on Instagram
  • Help set up LinkedIn
  • Assist with taking photos and posting images
  • Creating educational marketing/advertising materials
  • Making ‘how to sew pads’ information sheets
  • Advertising workshops, projects and public events
  • Help at public events, taking photos and posting to social media for digital documentation

This would be great for someone with marketing and social media experience or a student studying marketing or similar. Sew On would like to create a photo gallery/photoshoot, if you can help with that please get in touch.

Frustrated by commercial, plastic-laden, mainstream period products, one of their main goals is to educate people about healthier alternatives. The solutions for period care do not need to be bought but can be made inexpensively by sewing reusable pads. Sew On will encourage people to rethink their period management and consider starting their own sewing groups to make pads for their local communities.

Sew On wants to provide information to encourage as many people with periods as possible to switch to sustainable period options. They are in the process of setting up their Dunedin chapter and are looking for someone with experience in social media marketing! Join a team that is working to make a difference in the world with both waste minimisation and women’s health.
