Hawea Moggie Squad volunteer led animal welfare charity based in Hāwea but reaching out to Makarora and the Lindis too.

They are seeking a money making mastermind to run their existing fundraising program (six small events) and to grow the program so they can continue to care for cats in our community.

The role would involve:

  • Further recruitment of volunteers to help with events
  • Running six small events through the course of the year (4 raffles, 2 sausage sizzles)
  • Sourcing prizes for raffles (some have been sourced already for this year)
  • Producing a 6 weekly report for committee meetings (a summary of events held/planned)
  • Explore other streams of fundraising outside of events (merchandise, for example)
  • Promotion of the event - key messages and objectives will be provided

How your role will have an impact:

  • In addition to raising funds, these small events allow the group to interface with the public and raise awareness of their key message of 'welfare, desexing and microchipping'.
  • The beneficiaries of this role are unowned cats and kittens of the Hāwea area who are vaccinated, desexed and microchipped before having forever homes found for them and the public who adopt these felines or seek our help in other ways.
  • The HMS team will benefit greatly and gain more time for cat related work, while knowing operational costs are covered.
