CanInspire Charitable Trust believes in the power of creativity to uplift and inspire others. CanBead runs jewellery making and beading workshops that offer a therapeutic outlet, bringing hope and joy to those experiencing illness, trauma, or loss. The workshops allow participants to engage with others going through similar challenges, and provide a fun distraction while being creative and expressive. The workshops are offered free of charge and ran in conjunction with other charities who act as host agencies.

Their organisation relies on volunteers, from sewing kit bags which are given to workshop participants, breaking up donated jewellery, to assisting at workshops and running fundraising events.

As a CanBead Fundraiser you will be:

  • Joining a passionate team - making a difference in the lives of people going through a difficult time
  • Helping the team to coordinate its fundraising events/activities
  • Contributing to organising & overseeing fundraising events: market days, sausage sizzles, bingo & quiz nights etc
  • Assisting the team to implement new and innovative fundraising ideas

Training:

  • You will receive induction training on the values, mission and operations of the charity

Requirements

  • Passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others
  • Organised and reliable
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Able to work in a team
  • Effective communicator
  • Have the ability to motivate others
  • Previous event experience is a bonus, but not required
  • Creative in generating new fundraising ideas

Time commitment

  • Attend no more than 6 team planning meetings per year
  • There will be more time required in the lead up to events and participation on the day of the event
  • A minimum 1 year commitment is preferred
