Trustee

Lakes Multicultural Collective is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join its Board of Trustees.

As a Trustee, you will provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective management, growth, and long-term sustainability of the organisation.

They are looking for Board Members who can bring their unique strengths and expertise to key governance different key areas. Available opportunities include:

  • Chairperson
  • Tangata Whenua Lead
  • Accounting / Treasurer / Financial Lead

  • Operational / Strategic Planning Lead

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in governance or nonprofit leadership (preferred but not
    essential).
  • A genuine passion for cultural diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to commit to regular meetings - initially monthly, with the possibility of moving
    to bi-monthly.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Lakes Multicultural Collective offer flexibility to suit a variety of schedules. Whether you are a working professional, community advocate, student, or retiree, you can contribute meaningfully on your own terms.

The commitment typically includes:

  • Approximately 10 hours per month for Board meetings.
  • Moving to bi-monthly meetings once roles are established.
  • Additional time required may vary depending on the specific portfolio you take on.
