Shakti Dunedin is a national not-for-profit community organisation specialising in the area of women’s development, empowerment and domestic/ family violence intervention, prevention and awareness. They are a specialist provider of culturally competent support services for women, children and families of Asian, African and Middle Eastern origin.
As a Shakti Administrative and Community Support person you will:
- Manage filing systems and update necessary documents
- Maintain and replenish resource materials, including photocopying brochures and business cards
- Organize and archive updated templates, policies, and manuals
- Assist with stationery procurement and other administrative tasks
- Support in organising workshops, meal preparation, and grocery shopping as required
- Participate in public displays to promote Shakti Dunedin
Community Risk Management:
- Act as an interpreter between clients and caseworkers to facilitate effective communication
- Participate in Training and Meetings
- Attend volunteer training workshops as scheduled by SDETAT
- Assist with staff meetings to stay informed and offer support as needed
- Commitment to privacy and respect for confidentiality
Training provided:
- Initially there is a 1 full day of cultural competency training to complete

Requirements
- Previous admin experience and skills
(Familiar with Microsoft suite)
- Complete Online Cultural Competency Training
- Full Police Vetting required
- Asian, African and Middle Eastern background
- Multilingual
- No Age limit
- Ideally, 12 months plus minimum commitment
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
- Flexible hours: up to ten hours per week
