Do you care about the wellbeing of the migrant community? Do you have experience creating video content that can be applied to impactful and meaningful story-telling? Headlight’s mission is to increase mental health literacy, so that people have the skills, knowledge and confidence to better understand their own mental health, know how to protect it and how to actively support the mental wellbeing of friends, family and whānau.

Currently, they are working to create an innovative new programme to:

  • help migrants understand how culture shock can impact their health and wellbeing
  • share stories of other migrants navigating life in our community
  • provide advice, strategies and access to support to help them thrive

The video content of the programme is key to engaging our diverse audience, and they are looking for a videographer to help create powerful and meaningful content that will deliver important messages about health and wellbeing.

You will be given a script, and work with our small team of migrant advisors and mental health experts to create and shape the video content. Where possible, the video will be modified to be able to reach a diverse audience i.e. with subtitles. Editing will be the bulk of the role as the video itself will not be technical - just static of 2 people having a conversation.

Your skills and expertise will provide the essential tools to help Headlight create a programme that will have a positive impact on migrant mental health in the long run.

This is a project that will require approximately 10-20 hours in September.
