Lake Hawea Community Centre is owned by its community and is used by all ages and stages of our community. It relies solely on fundraising and community volunteers to keep it growing and accessible to all in our community. In recent times, the Centre's operations have grown steadily, and they have decided to restructure their volunteer team to be more sustainable and carry on creating an impact in the community.

The Sports Courts have been upgraded and has equipment and facilities to enable it to be used for various sports. Bookings and payments are made online, and users manage their own access and equipment. However, currently, they are underutilised. The committee are looking for someone to promote the Sports Courts to the community.

Your role will be to:

  • raise awareness that they exist to the growing community as well as visitors
  • promote their diverse uses (not just tennis courts!)
  • connecting with local networks to spread this information within the community
  • be the point of contact for questions and inquiries about using the courts
  • occasionally answer calls from users who have any issues during their booking
  • if it's of interest to you, you can get involved in social media and other promotion as relevant to your role

You will be supported by our Management Committee and our pool of enthusiastic volunteers. You will be given an induction of any relevant information and policies you may need to share with the community. Our social media volunteers will be there to support you with promotional efforts and we will assist with opportunities for training and mentoring as required.

Your contribution will help develop the Sports Courts to their full potential and ensure opportunities for use by all members of the growing community.
