Property Manager

The Dunedin South rooms are a resource made available to the community by the Dunedin South branch of the Labour party. Proceeds are used towards running the property and supporting Labour to benefit the people of South Dunedin.

They are looking for someone to manage the bookings and maintenance of the meeting rooms.

As Property Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Supervision of all internal and external maintenance
  • The Annual Warrant of Fitness (WOF) process and regular monthly checks.
  • Bookings and Invoicing (Using Gmail + a basic invoicing system)
  • Keeping accurate records in the diary
  • Checking rooms after hires
  • Extra cleaning (Vacuuming, wiping tables and chairs, kitchen benchtops when required)
  • Purchasing cleaning products and other items when needed
  • Key register and security
  • Monthly reports to the Dunedin South Branch Executive

You will be fully trained by the current property manager and members of the Dunedin Branch executive committee, some of whom will also be available to call on for advice or support needed in the role. You will be provided with a computer, laptop and landline at the property, but you may need to use your own mobile phone for some aspects of the role.

You will find it rewarding helping community groups with their bookings and supporting their activities, and contributing to community connection and wellbeing.

An honorarium is provided to cover any costs you may incur as a volunteer.

Requirements

Ideally you are someone with:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proven ability to interact and engage with a wide range of people and groups in the community.
  • Flexibility with their availability
  • Computer and email skills (using Gmail, typing ability)
  • Attention to detail + record keeping
  • Physical ability to do a bit of cleaning as outlined above
  • Your own mobile phone to use as part of the role (honorarium is provided to help cover any costs)

Time commitment

There are no set hours for this role, as this is dependent on the bookings for the Rooms so will include weekends. Typically 5 hours per week .
