Trust Secretary - Life Education Trust Coastal Otago

Life Education Trust Coastal Otago is a passionate organisation delivering the Healthy Harold programme to over 5,000 tamariki each year. The Trust is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join their board as Secretary — a key governance role that helps keep their impactful work running smoothly, on track and firing on all governance cylinders.

Requirements

  • Coordinating board meetings (held every ~6 weeks)
  • Preparing and distributing agendas and board papers in advance
  • Taking accurate meeting minutes and maintaining records
  • Managing key board documents and shared folders
  • Supporting scheduling and board communication

You’ll work closely with the Chair and Trustees, and while the focus is admin and documentation, there’s always room to get involved in other parts of their mahi—funding, strategy, events—if you’re keen.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Approximately 4–6 hours per month. The board meets every six weeks, typically in the evening from around 5:45 PM. There is some flexibility with timing, and additional time may occasionally be required depending on board activities or events.
