The Dunedin Gasworks Museum is a small, volunteer-run museum based in South Dunedin, dedicated to preserving the city’s industrial heritage. The Treasurer role supports the museum by ensuring financial security and transparency, helping the board make informed decisions, and sustaining the museum’s operations for the community. This is a practical, behind-the-scenes role that makes a big difference in keeping the museum running.

Tasks include:

  • Receiving and paying invoices.
  • Issuing invoices to tenants, when needed.
  • Checkinginvoices against bank statement at end of month, adding clarification where needed.
  • Liaising with Trust accountant as needed.

You will be helping to ensure that the financial side of the museum is secure and transparent.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • 2–3 hours per month
  • Board meetings run monthly on Mondays, but your attendance is optional.
