Be Heard is a not-for-profit organisation providing free counselling and group wellbeing programmes for children at primary and intermediate schools around Otago.

As a Board member you will be joining a team of 3 current board members contributing to the governance and strategic direction of Be Heard to support their focus on tamariki wellbeing.

This role will help provide strategic direction on the marketing and communications that reflect their values and supporting their brand development. You will also help Be Heard to strengthen their profile with funders, partners and the wider community.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing, communications, PR, sponsorship or brand strategy.
  • Willing to follow the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Have an interest in children's wellbeing.
  • Previous board experience is welcomed but not essential.

Time commitment

  • Meetings are once a month for approximately 1 hour from 5.30pm.
  • Board members are also welcome to come into the office any Friday to meet with the team.
