Community Care Trust Sherwood

Working Hours

Dunedin, Mosgiel

Volunteering in this role is multi-varied. The main objective is to help our people to gain new skills but there is an opportunity to help our Activities Coordinator to deliver the sessions and activities with our clients.

We are looking for people who have skills that they are happy to share, whether that is sport, arts and crafts, music, or virtually anything else, and work with people with staff to support our people to learn new skills. You are likely to be leading the activity with support, but can have more support if needed.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with people with disabilities and can build on skills like facilitation, teaching, presenting and support services. Community Care Trust is also an active employer, so getting involved may have a flow on of future employment opportunities.

  • Empathy
  • Reliable and patient
  • Committed to working in a way consistent with the philosophy of Sherwood
  • A skill to share - or a willingness to learn
  • A friendly and positive nature
  • Experience in delivering group activities would be ideal but not essential
