Children's Day Event Support (Dunedin)

Children's Day Out is a community event at Forsyth Barr stadium on Sunday 8 March, aimed at providing a fun day out for whanau with tamariki under 5 years old. The event is a gold coin donation entry, and then all activities (Children's entertainers, fun kids activities, sports activities, and more!) after entry are free.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a non-profit national organisation committed to the well-being of children under 5 and their families. You can also volunteer with your own children (12+ years old).

As Event Support you will be:

• Helping to run a smooth event
• Helping set up tables, gates and chairs for agencies putting on activities for the event
• Engaging with families at the various activities
• Providing a wonderful experience for all tamariki and whanau attending
• Helping with pack-down at the end of the day

Volunteers will be provided with:

• Full training at the beginning of the shift
• An Whānau Āwhina Plunket T-shirt to wear at the event, sunscreen and food
• A break, for volunteers who stay for the entire shift

Requirements

Whānau Āwhina Plunket are looking for volunteers who:

• Enjoy working with children and families
• Enjoy working in a team
• 16 years or older
• Wear closed toe shoes
• Bring along a water bottle
• Can stand for periods of time
• Dress for the weather, including sun protection

Time commitment

• The event will be Sunday 8 March: 10am -1pm
• Volunteers are needed from 8.30am - 2pm, to help with setup and pack-down
• If you are only able to help for part of the above hours, please contact them to discuss
