Volunteer drivers are required for two hours once a month on a Tuesday afternoon a month from 1-3pm.
Iona care home are looking for people to drive their residents, in a van for outings or to and from social outings. Social engagement and meaningful activity are essential to a healthy, happy life, no matter what your age. Iona (a PSO Enliven home) is for people over 65 years and offers a range of social activities including discussions, presentations from guest speakers, singing and music, craft, outings, cooking and meals.
Supporting older persons in a simple, practical way is a wonderfully rewarding experience. Sharing just a little bit of your time can really make their day, and it might just make yours too. Be prepared for 'helper's high' as your volunteering can lead to a rush of euphoria and the release of endorphins!
