South Alive Beautification Team Member

South Alive is a community led organisation which is focused on the revitalisation of South Invercargill. Their mission statement is: Powered by our strengths as a community, we will continue to make South Invercargill a place we are proud of and that inspires us.

The Beautification team projects include:

  • maintaining community garden beds with vegetables, herbs and flowers
  • maintaining the other plantings in the community park (around South Alive)
  • stocking the plant trolley at South Alive to help fund the teams projects
  • running workshops on gardening topics in the community garden

There are opportunities to share your own ideas for beautifying South Invercargill, and to learn from others in the group. South Alive provides opportunities to connect with other groups doing similar work too, e.g. through bus trips to other community garden groups, or gardening events.

Requirements

  • The team are looking for people with an interest in gardening and the South Invercargill area.
  • You must be reliable, and able to work well as part of a team.

Time commitment

Monthly team meetings / working bees on weekends (usually a few hours), and other casual events/ working bees as required.
