Garden Ambassador- Wakatipu Fundraising Event

Royal NZ Plunket Trust

Category:

Events

Hours:

Both/Flexible

Locations:

Arrowtown, Queenstown

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charity and Aotearoa’s largest support service for the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whānau. Everything they do is to support Kiwi whānau and their tamariki to thrive. Plunket’s Community Services are not Government funded so are reliant on grants and fundraising.

The Garden Tour was for 10 years the main fundraiser for Wakatipu Plunket. Last year they are collaborated with Arrowtown Creative Arts Society to run a Gardens + Galleries event with a fresh approach to ensure that the event continues to appeal to local supporters and those further afield. This event was a great success so the same format is being used again in February 2025.

About the event:
Garden and art lovers, come and explore some of the Wakatipu Basin's best gardens and art galleries, all in support of Plunket. Held over two days, Gardens + Galleries event offers a beautiful cross-section of gardens, from small and compact to large park-like gardens. The artists’ trails in the Wakatipu Basin represent a diverse group of local painters and sculptors.

They are seeking Garden Ambassadors for their event coming up in Feburary 2025. As a volunteer you will:

  • work with another Garden Ambassador at your allocated garden
  • support ticket holders with where to park, how to access the garden
  • provide any other relevant information (all given to you during a briefing)
  • enjoy spending your day in a beautiful location, interacting with the community
  • receive a free ticket for the other half of the day to explore the gardens and galleries

As a volunteer you will play a key role in an event where funds help keep Plunket facilities open, and maintaining Community Services such as:

  • playgroups
  • support groups
  • Injury Prevention (including car seat installation and advice)
