The High Street Cable Car Society stands behind the Dunedin Light Rail Heritage Trust, which aims to bring back the Mornington/High Street cable car service (which ran 1883-1957). Now, more than 60 years later, the goal is to reinstate this service once again, so that new Cable Cars, of heritage profile, can run on a restored cable car line from Mornington, via High Street, to Princes St, where they can delight locals and visitors once again.
They open their interim cable car building in Mornington regularly , to bring the project to the public's attention, where they display 3 restored cable cars on site.
In the role of Treasurer you will:
- Play an integral part in the Cable Car Reinstatement Project
- Be able to abide by the rules of the Cable Car Society
- Attend the annual AGM which is held in the latter part of each year
- Use your working knowledge and experience of Xero, Excel and Online Banking
- Submit all relevant compliance and reporting documents in accordance with legislative requirements
- Work collaboratively alongside others to advance the strategic goals/objectives of the Society

Requirements
The incoming treasurer would be required to have:
- Previous financial management/accounting/bookkeeping experience
- A working knowledge of Xero, Excel, Email and online banking is essential
- An ability to work collaboratively alongside others as part of a team
- This role might suit a retired or semi-retired accountant
Time commitment
- Variable: 1-2 hours anticipated per week
