High Street Cable Car Society
Our Society stands behind the Dunedin Light Rail Heritage Trust, which has the aim to bring back the Mornington/High Street cable car service (which ran 1883-1957). We open up our interim cable car building in Mornington from time to time, to bring to the attention of the public what we are doing, and to display the 3 old vehicles we have on site. We have a small group of volunteers to assist on these open days, but a few more would be very helpful. Treasurer
Use your financial acumen and experience to serve as Treasurer on the board of a Heritage minded Society whose goal it is to re-establish the operations of the High Street Cable Car, and bring history to life once again!
Assistant Volunteer
The role is to welcome visitors, to show them the cable cars we have on site, to invite them on board the cable car trailer, and to explain to visitors our aim to bring the cable cars back into service
