Koru Care Otago is a registered charitable trust which fundraises to provide young Otago people with a week long trip of a lifetime.

Their goal is to support young people who would otherwise not have this opportunity to build confidence, create friendships and develop their potential towards becoming valued members of their communities. Some of their young people live with chronic illness, have experienced trauma, may struggle at school or need support to manage everyday activities in their learning and in their social relationships.

Koru Care Otago are looking for a couple of people to join their committee. The committee meet once a month to plan and put together fundraising events to help raise funds for the cost of their trips. The committee is well supported by fundraising event volunteers. The Committee also plan and book the trip each year.

The team plan several different events a year:

  • Dunedin Stadium event work, at games or concerts
  • BINGO and quiz nights
  • and in January 2025 they plan to have a stall at the Brighton Gala Day

As part of this team, you will enjoy being part of this exciting charity, meeting new people, and working in a motivated team.

The Koru Care Otago team are happy for you to attend 2-3 meetings to be sure you are the right fit for the team.
