Donation Pick-Up Crew

Looking for a fun, flexible way to give back to your community? Join the Pick-Up Volunteer team at Happiness House Community Support Centre! Happiness House provides an open, warm, friendly and confidential environment supporting the wellbeing and resilience of the local community through its many programs. They are looking for volunteers to join their efforts in improving access to basic needs for those struggling in the community.

Each Wednesday, Happiness House receives generous donations from amazing local businesses like Recycle Boutique, Ferg Bakery, Raeward Fresh, and Real NZ. These donations are vital to their mission of community supporting community, and they need YOU to help keep things moving!

🌟 Here’s what you’ll do:

• You’ll take turns with other lovely volunteers doing the weekly pick-up run around Queenstown, collecting donations and dropping them off at Happiness House.
• The route takes about an hour (depending on parking!)
• You’ll need to be able to lift the occasional heavy-ish box of produce, like a sack of potatoes or a full bag of second hand clothing!

It’s a fantastic way to contribute to community wellbeing, and you'll have a great time doing it as you connect with other volunteers, local businesses all the while knowing that everything you collect is going to make a huge difference to people in need of basic life necessities.

Requirements

🚗 Own vehicle for pick-ups
🚗 Comfortable lifting boxes of produce (e.g., boxes of vegetables and bags of clothing)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

• Pickups take about 1 hour each Wednesday morning.
• Choose whatever weeks suit your schedule through a flexible roster system
