Te Kākano Aotearoa Trust is a charitable organisation who have their own community-based native plant nursery. They support native habitat restoration in the Upper Clutha Basin and work with local community groups, schools, organisations & businesses in the effort to promote hands-on community land care.
As a not-for-profit trust, Te Kākano relies on the dedication of volunteers to help at the nursery and on their project sites. Their volunteers hail from all around the world and span all ages. Not only do they lend a helping hand each year but they leave a permanent personal mark on the Wanaka landscape for generations to come.

Volunteer South's office is closed from Friday 20th December until Monday January 6th. Many organisations listing roles online will also be taking a break. During this time your requests to connect will go through, however there may be some delay in you hearing from the organisations you select. Please be patient and if you have not heard back from them by mid January email them directly and give them a nudge. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season and summer.
