Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

Lake Hawea Community Centre is owned by its community and is used by all ages and stages of our community. It relies solely on fundraising and community volunteers to keep it growing and accessible to all in our community. In recent times, the Centre's operations have grown steadily, and they have decided to restructure their volunteer team to be more sustainable and carry on creating an impact in the community.

They need someone with the skills to:

  • keep the website updated with the latest information on events and activities
  • utilise social media platforms to reach out to all of the community
  • liaise with our Management Committees via email
  • work towards a brief of key messages to communicate
  • have creative input to help the committee achieve their marketing goals

You will be supported by the committee, who will provide input on what key messages and image they wish to portray through social media and their website. Your role will help the organisation raise awareness of all that they offer to the community. Lake Hawea is a growing community and they would love for more people to know about the Community Centre and engage in the many activities and initiatives, ultimately create a more connected community.

Requirements

  • Social media and and website savvy
  • You will be able to work independently to a timeline where necessary
  • Liaise with and report to Management Committee
  • Knowledge of local area is helpful
  • Interest in supporting a community centre and resource
    You do not need to be in Lake Hawea to do this role, but it would be good if you have a connection to the community and a genuine interest in supporting this organisation.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Flexible time commitment, up to 10 hrs a month as per your availability
